Carpoolers Jam No. 2 forms part of Alejandro Cartagena’s homonymous series, in which he reinterprets portraiture and landscape through an urban exploration. The artist photographically recorded the passage of vehicles through the streets to present them side by side, exposing the diversity of quotidian scenarios for those in jobs that involve physical labor. He uses photography as a tool for observing the cultural, social, and political constructions that make up Latin American societies.
