A tree that grows prickly pears? Is this an edited photograph or a constructed set? While fruit trees are common in nature, something in this image doesn’t seem to belong. This scene exposes one of Adela Goldbard’s primary interests: new interpretations of what is established. In this case, she portrayed a fantastical landscape built with objects foreign to the context that, nonetheless, integrate perfectly into the environment. In this way, the artist invites reflection on the laws of nature and our beliefs around them.
