Runo Lagomarsino studied at the Valand Academy in Gothenburg, the Malmö Art Academy in Lund, and the Whitney Independent Study Program in New York. His artistic practice is deeply engaged with the way materials evoke memories or connections. His work often reveals the gaps in established narratives, emphasizing the precarious nature of language as a tool of communication and understanding. He uses a wide range of mediums—such as collage, drawing, installation, performance, and video—to create what he describes as “precise and poetic displacements.” These displacements generate friction and fractures, revealing stories and perspectives that are commonly ignored or overlooked. His work highlights the instability of language and its role in shaping the understanding of history and identity. Throughout his career, he has participated in individual and group shows in Germany, Spain, the United States, Stockholm, Italy, Lisbon, Mexico, and São Paulo. He lives and works between Malmö and São Paulo.
Colección FEMSA has an image bank of the works that comprise it—a resource intended for researchers, publishers, and art institutions. The Collection is open to lending requests for shows in Mexico and other countries.
