Betsabée Romero graduated with a degree in Communications from the Universidad Iberoamericana in Mexico City and studied a master’s degree in Visual Arts at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas de la Universidad Nacional Autónoma de México (abbreviated as UNAM in Spanish). Her work rescues cultural themes of social importance, such as migration, gender roles, Mexican and religious traditions, and race. She has been the recipient of various international awards, such as the Chevalier des Arts et des Lettres from the French Government. Her work has formed part of nearly 100 exhibitions in countries like Germany, Australia, Canada, Cuba, Egypt, the United Arab Emirates, Spain, the United States, France, India, and Mexico.
