Cinthya Soto
Tramo Santa Fe
2005
Chromogenic printing on MDF panels. Edition 4/6 + 1 AP
324 x 405 cm
FEMSA Collection.
Driven by the possibilities of photography, Cinthya Soto develops non-traditional compositions that integrate color images in high definition and large formats, which allows her to render maximum detail in the environments she captures. Her scenarios contain a certain tension between nature and the domestic, confronting natural and artificial elements in the same image. Tramo Santa Fe leverages repetition to depict traditional urban life and how popular commerce self-organizes. The piece portrays a quotidian scene that could be found in any market, without putting much emphasis on the elements that comprise it.
Colección FEMSA has an image bank of the works that comprise it—a resource intended for researchers, publishers, and art institutions. The Collection is open to lending requests for shows in Mexico and other countries.
