11ee016 is part of a series developed from drawings in which Magdalena Fernández attempted to modulate space, resulting in geometric studies without solid figures. The work seeks to highlight the powers of movement while transforming into its own axis and offering viewers different perspectives. In line with the artist’s interest in establishing dialogues between the concrete and modular and between order and chaos, the piece alludes to the paradigms of modern and contemporary practices, in which uncertainty and transformation are recurring themes. Without the certainty of tomorrow, possibility prevails, as is suggested here through the piece’s continuous movement and transformation.
Colección FEMSA has an image bank of the works that comprise it—a resource intended for researchers, publishers, and art institutions. The Collection is open to lending requests for shows in Mexico and other countries.
