María José de la Macorra studied at the Escuela de Cerámica y Porcelana de Toluca, at the Mokichi Okada Association, and at the Escuela Nacional de Artes Plásticas de la UNAM. Throughout her career she has experimented with various mediums, moving between two-dimensional and three-dimensional forms and using different concepts and materials. Her artistic exploration is related to curiosity and introspection, often exposing different facets of cycles and nature in micro- or macroscopic ways. She lives and works in Mexico City.
