Eugenio Dittborn studied art at the School of Fine Arts of the Universidad de Chile and later continued his education in Berlin, Madrid, and Paris. Unlike other Chileans, he remained in his country during the military coup of the mid-1970s. This period had a significant influence on his work, and he began to address concepts such as home and the notion of displacement. Throughout his career, he has received various recognitions, such as the Premio Nacional de Arte and the Premio de Grabado at the I Salón de Gráfica of the Universidad Católica de Chile. In addition, he has received scholarships from the Guggenheim Foundation and the Fundación Andes.
Colección FEMSA has an image bank of the works that comprise it—a resource intended for researchers, publishers, and art institutions. The Collection is open to lending requests for shows in Mexico and other countries.
