Mauricio Gattás studied architecture and later continued his training at the Ximena Subercaseaux workshop, the École Supérieure d’Art et Design de Saint-Étienne, and the DeCinti Villalón painting academy in Madrid. In his first works, he experimented with different techniques such as pencil, charcoal, watercolor, and oils. His painting is classic and hyperrealistic, marked by his training in architecture, and focuses on landscapes and scenes from everyday life. His large-format works allude to the imagination, memory, and impressions that have marked his life. He lives and works in Monterrey, Nuevo León.
